Canada Rail Vacations (A Discover Holidays Inc Company) Terms & Conditions
Please read these booking terms and conditions carefully. By paying a deposit, it is understood that you have read and accept these terms and conditions.
November Promotions Book your 2025 Canada rail vacation by November 30th and enjoy 10% off (up to $3,500 per couple) is valid for for departures between May 1 and October 15, 2025. For winter 2024/25 rail vacations, receive $500 off per couple.
Prices All prices quoted are shown in either Canadian ($CAD) or US ($USD) funds. All rates are subject to tax increases. Note: We recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover 100% of your package cost, as there are no exceptions to the cancellation penalties.
Changes in Prices & Itinerary Prices are subject to fluctuations and/or fuel and service charges imposed by airlines, rail & coach providers, hotels, airports, and other ground providers. In the event of fluctuations we reserve the right to adjust prices without notice.
Quotes Quoted services and rates are subject to availability at time of booking.
Deposits A non-refundable deposit of 10% plus any additional supplier deposits is required at time of confirmation of booking. These additional deposits will be listed on the confirmation invoice.
Full Payment Full payment is required no later than 45 days prior to departure. Bookings made within 45 days of departure will require a credit card on file and full payment will be applied upon final confirmation. Other supplier payment policies may apply and will be advised at time of booking.
Payments Discover Holidays accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Written authorization of the use of your card indicates your compliance with our booking terms and conditions. Credit card payments will be processed in the currency in which the booking was made (Canadian or US funds). We also accept direct wire transfer for bookings outside of 45 days of departure. Please contact our Travel Design team for bank account details. A copy of the wire transfer must be faxed or emailed on the date of issue indicating the total amount, reservation number(s) and client names. All bank fees related to transaction are the responsibility of the remitter.
Credit Card Payment Administration Fee A 3% surcharge will be applied to all credit card transactions.
Booking/ Payment Procedure To make a booking, contact your Travel Designer via email sales@canadarailvacations.com or call 1 800 986 4560. A credit card authorization secure link will be provided. Upon receipt, your booking will be processed and a deposit will be applied. At 45 days prior to departure full payment will be applied and a final invoice will be issued via email.
Documentation and Vouchers We issue full electronic documentation including itinerary & vouchers. Delivery of these will be arranged with your Travel Designer at time of final payment.
Cancellations Should you need to cancel your trip, you (or your authorized travel agent) must notify us in writing by letter, e-mail, or by fax. Notification of cancellation is based on working week in Canada. Weekend days or statutory holidays cannot be calculated in day’s prior policies for cancellation fee avoidance. An acknowledgement of cancellation notice will be sent; should you not receive this advice then cancellation has not been received by Discover Holidays Inc. and must be resent.
The 10% deposit plus any additional supplier cancellation fees is non- refundable. Any supplier cancellation policies outside our standard policy will show on the invoice. We recommend independent purchase of travel insurance.

• 90 – 47 days notice 50%
• 46 days or less notice 100%
Canada Remote Lodges & Wildlife Packages & Unique Adventure Packages
Individual cancellation policies will show on the invoice at time of booking.
An acknowledgement of cancellation notice will be sent; should you NOT receive this advice then cancellation has NOT been received by Discover Holidays Inc. and must be resent.

Change Fee Date or name changes to existing reservations following full payment are considered a cancellation and rebooking. A fee of $50 per person plus any supplier fees and price increases may be charged for all other changes. In some cases, supplier fees may be 100% of the services provided.
Unused Services There will be no refunds for services which are not utilized. Should passengers fail to arrive for their pre-booked service/product or voluntarily cancel, amend or otherwise alter their arrangements; Discover Holidays will not be responsible for refunds. This is regardless of inferred or implied assurances on behalf of any of service providers.
Responsibility Discover Holidays acts solely as an agent for the suppliers used in the program. Although great care is taken in choosing suppliers, we are unable to directly control them and therefore cannot be liable for their acts or omissions. The travel services are subject to the conditions imposed by these suppliers, and their liability may be limited to their tariffs, conditions of carriage, international conventions and agreements.
Liability Discover Holidays shall not be liable or responsible for the death or injury to any person or loss of or damage to any property or otherwise including baggage, whether due to it or its servants, agents or employees negligence or otherwise arising out of or in-conjunction with any accommodation, transportation or other services, or resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, dangers, incidents or the sea, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of governments or other authorities de jure or de facto wars, whether declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferage, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, delays or cancellations of or changes in schedules or itinerary or overlooking or defaults or from any causes beyond the Company’s control or through the acts of defaults of the hotels, airlines, bus or car companies, railroads, steamship lines or owners or contractors providing accommodation, transportation or other services or any loss or damage resulting from improper or insufficient passport, visa or other documents and that neither the Company nor its servants, agents or employees shall be or become liable or responsible for any additional expense or liability sustained or incurred by the tour and/or modify the itineraries in any way it thinks desirable and further reserves the right to decline to accept any person on any tour and may substitute hotels where necessary. The transportation companies or firms shall be exempt from all liability in the respect of any detention, delay, loss, damage, sickness or injury, however or by whosoever caused and whatever kind occurring, of or to the passenger at any time when the passenger was not on board a carrier or convenience used and operated by the transport companies or firms. The passage contract in use by the transportation companies or firms and the purchaser of these tours and/or passengers. The issuance and acceptance of receipts, tickets, vouchers, coupons or travel orders shall be deemed consent of the above conditions.
