We are back again from a wonderful trip in the Rockies. Everything was great! The Fairmont hotels we loved it. We had wonderful rooms in each hotel, the bus transfers very good arranged. We enjoyed our trips - snowshoeing, ice canyon walk, sleigh-ride, is was all fantastic! I was happily surprised with the informative travel documents with the lonely planet guide that we received on arrival in the Banff Springs hotel. We had a fabulous time on our Canadian adventure!

We loved everything that was planned. The train trip to Montreal worked out really well, they kept bringing us food and drinks and the seats and views were great. Then we arrived and just had to go up the elevator to our hotel which was beautiful and had a wonderful view from our room. The food tour the next day was really fun- lots of good tastes and sights to see! All in all, the trip was fab so thanks again for all your help!

We really enjoyed our tour

of eastern Canada with Canada Rail Vacations. Andre was very helpful and responsive to questions as we researched and booked the tour. There was a good combination of scheduled tours and free time to explore on our own. This is not a tour where you travel with one large group and guide the whole time. We liked that it was more like traveling on our own but with hotels, train, and some (not all) transportation was pre-planned.

When we turned off, there were all these trees covered in snow. It was like a Christmas tree fairyland.

I failed to mention how much we liked the hotel in Calgary. What a beautiful building. Our view out the window was the tower. What a treat when it started changing colors at night. It was snowing pretty good. So coming from Texas in the summer it was really special, almost magical. We did not get to see the lake he thought was so pretty cause it was too cloudy, but seeing the snow and trees it did not matter.

I would like to highly commend travel agent Alekh Singh for putting together a customized, detailed itinerary for both East and West Canada. We are not young, my husband has mobility issues, and we are on a tight budget, but Alekh made it work. He was super prompt in the communication from Vancouver to Melbourne, very patient with all my extra requests, and went above and beyond in ensuring all our needs & wants were accommodated for. He even checked with hotels re mobility and threw in some extra bonuses. I cannot speak highly enough of his efficient service and especially of his kindness, care, and attention to individual detail, something quite rare these days. Canada - Endless beauty from a train window.

I thought I could visit friends in Toronto after seeing my daughter in NYC and, knowing nothing about Toronto googled ‘what to do’ there. The first thing that came up was an ad from Canada Rail Vacations about travelling by train to the Rockies. My immediate thought was ‘yes!’ I liked their proposed itinerary and loved every day of the trip. Via Rail from Toronto to Jasper offered wonderful views, companionable and delicious meals, and a cosy cabin. The amount of water - lakes, rivers, waterfalls - is just about incomprehensible to we Australians and nurtured my spirit. Interesting late night stop at Winnipeg - behind the station is the magnificent Human Rights Museum - wonderful to know it even exists. The hotel stays and wildlife tours in Jasper, Lake Louise and Banff gave me a good introduction to the magnificent Rockies, and all the arrangements fell into place well. The Rocky Mountaineer trip to Vancouver was a dreamlike experience. Travelling by train offers so much more than flying-in-flying-out, and crossing beautiful Canada’s waterways, rocky shield, prairies and mountains was uplifting.
